C compiler cannot create executables

Postby Tonelato » Sat Mar 27, 2004 2:29 pm

Hello!
I´m trying to install the MRTG (version 2.10.13) on Solaris 2.6 but when I type the command ./configure the following message appears:

checking for gcc... gcc
checking for C compiler default output file name... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables
See `config.log´ for more details.

In the file config.log the following error:

gcc: installation problem, cannot exec `as´: No such file or directory
configure:1660: $? = 1
configure: failed program was:
| /* confdefs.h. */
|
| #define PACKAGE_NAME **
| #define PACKAGE_TARNAME **
| #define PACKAGE_VERSION **
| #define PACKAGE_STRING **
| #define PACKAGE_BUGREPORT **
| /* end confdefs.h. */
|
| int
| main ()
| {
|
| ;
| return 0;
| }
configure:1698: error: C compiler cannot create executables

Any help will be welcome!
Thanks
