nmap-2.53

Postby oadam » Wed Sep 05, 2001 6:38 pm

I have tried to use nmap-2.53 but when logged in as root I am asked to recompile my kernel and the following message displays:

pcap_open_live: ppp0: Device not configured

*BSD: If you are getting device not configured, you need to recompile your kernel with Berkeley Packet Filter support.

Is there anything that can be done to solve this. Is there a port of Berkeley Filter Packet for MAC OSX

download this this file archive:
<A HREF="http://geeklair.net/downloads/nmap-2.54BETA29-macosx.tar.gz" TARGET=_blank>http://geeklair.net/downloads/nmap-2.54BETA29-macosx.tar.gz</A>

in Terminal decompress the file, cd to the new nmap folder then:

sudo make install

you're done
