IMP and/or SquirrelMail

does anyone have experience in installing SquirrelMail or IMP on macOSX ?
I tried to do that, but stopped at the level of PHP extensions (PEAR and gettext) configuration.
Lot of configuration problems in configuring all these PHP extensions.
Help would be great !! Thanks
