Simply because it is two very different technologies you're mentioning. You can get XDarwin to display windows as windows in Aqua, but you cannot use Aqua/Finder as a so-called X-Server (which is what XFree86/XDarwin is). Aqua renders macintosh windows using the Carbon and Cocoa specifications. XDarwin uses a UNIX protocol called X11 to specify who the windows look. Unlike Aqua & Finder, the X system can enable you to run applications on a foreign host, but see the X-Windows on your own computer.
