bundle a Unix executable

I've worked in the Unix world for 20 years. .I can build a glut/opengl load on one platform and need only "make" to run it on SGI / SGI230 (P4) / Windows / or MAC.
Now I'm trying to hand-build a mac app bundle and come up just a little short (e.g., runs, but can't open files in the executable's directory // doesn't have mouse focus ).
