Xine

OK, i want Xine, and i am having no end of troubles compiling it and its libs:

xine.sourcefoge.net

it neesd lib52 (compiled easily), libmpeg2, libmpg123,libmad, and ffmpeg. None of these compile, and come up with nasty horrible error messages. Anybody know how to do this? Should i even try? is Xine worth it?
