dopewars not installing...

hello apex and ob1... great site, great work.

i have a problem though, when i tried to install the dopewars.pkg file, the installer runs, says it's finished, but then the actual program is not installed! i even did a search on both my partitions and the only thing it could find was the installer. i tried this several times, trying to install on both partitions, but i never got it fixed. is anyone else having these problems? what should i do?

i need my dopewars!!!

I have no idea what could be wrong.. it isnt the file (i just downloaded it to verify) and it installed fine on my system. Did you try typing "dopewars" at the terminal?

okay, sorry ob1 i'm a fool. i assumed it was a cocoa app, not a console program... it works (although i must sudo tcsh login as root because otherwise it cannot access highscores). thanks for your help!

next on the list of things not working (but not downloaded from here): ettercap.

have you gotten this to work? supposedely it was released for os x but i try installing it (./configure, make, make install) and i get a n error #1 for make.

i don' know what's wrong, do you?

I haven't tried playing with ettercap.. yet. Ill check it out when i get a few seconds.
About your dopewars issue: as root run this command
chmod a+rw /usr/local/share/dopewars.sco
this will enable anyone to add to this file, as well as read it. Good luck!
