Compiling SLRN for OSX

I'm trying to get SLRN to compile. I have compiled the S-LANG libs successfully and SLRN compiles but it does not accept user input. If I kill the SLRN task from another terminal I see all of the input that I have made piled up after the exit. Any Ideas?
